History & Search

Every recording is stored locally on your Mac — VocalFlow gives you several ways to get back to it.

Key points:

  • Usage records page (main window): a unified list of past sessions with a category switch between Transcriptions and Voice Memo segments. Each row shows time, duration, the text (refined or edited version), and a copy button; clicking a row opens a detail window with playback, WAV export, and a raw / refined / edited comparison.
  • Global history search (default ⌘⇧V, summonable anytime): type to search all transcripts, navigate with the keyboard, preview details in a side panel, and press Enter to quick-edit and “copy & close”. Manual edits are saved independently and take display priority.
  • Re-transcribe: run any past recording through server transcription again (returns in seconds, cancelable) — useful for recordings that fell back to the raw transcript.
  • Multiple refinement versions (subscription): switch the detail panel between raw / default refinement / alternative presets (closer-to-verbatim, technical), generated on demand and cached.
  • Usage statistics: daily voice-minutes and text-output bar charts (7/30 days), computed entirely on your Mac.
