Live Typing Mode
Live Typing is VocalFlow’s second input mode, on its own hotkey (default ⌥/). Instead of showing a floating window and refining the text at the end, it types finalized transcript segments directly at your cursor as you speak.
Key points:
- No floating window — a small indicator next to the cursor shows that live typing is active.
- Append-only: text that has been typed is never deleted or rewritten. Only finalized segments are injected, so nothing needs correcting afterward.
- No LLM refinement on stop — what you said is what stays. This trades polish for zero wait.
- Because refinement is skipped, live typing sessions are billed for voice duration only.
- Best for: chat replies and dialogue boxes where speed beats polish, and any situation where you want to see words land as you say them.
- Compared with regular dictation: dictation gives you cleaned-up, formatted text in one injection; live typing gives you raw words instantly, segment by segment.
